Where found

Shrubby swamp communities and near streams. Restricted to a small section of the eastern Megalong Valley, Blue Mountains.

Notes

Shrub to 5 m high. Leaves with sharp points. Bark almost papery, flaking or peeling. Branchlets hairy, becoming hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, 3–5.5 cm long, 3.5–5 mm wide, leathery, almost hairless, margins and midrib usually thickened. Flower spikes 30–40 mm wide, with about 20–60 flowers. Individual flowers with 5 greenish petals each 2.5–3 mm long, Stamen filaments pinky purple, 9.5–15 mm long. Flowers Spring to early Summer.

Critically endangered Australia. Critically endangered NSW. Provisions of the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 No 63 relating to the protection of protected plants generally also apply to plants that are a threatened species.
