Grassy subalpine woodland. Kosciuszko National Park. Tablelands south and east of the ACT.

Notes

Tree to 15 m high. Bark smooth, powdery, shedding in ribbons. Branchlets glaucous. Juvenile stems rounded in cross section, usually glaucous. Juvenile leaves opposite each other for 5 or 6 pairs, then alternating up the stems, 6.5–11 cm long, 22–40 mm wide, dull, grey-, blue-green, or green, to glaucous. Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 7–18 cm long, 7–30 wm wide, glossy, green or grey-green. Flowers white, with 0 petals. Flower clusters 7- to about 15-flowered. Mature flower buds 5–8 mm long, caps shorter than the base. Gumnuts 5–11 mm in diameter. Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have valves that are not very noticeable.
