Where found

Forest on steep slopes. Mainly Deua and Wadbilliga National Parks. Also recorded from Tallaganda State Conservation Area west of Braidwood.

Notes

Mallee or tree to 15 m tall.  Bark smooth throughout, shedding in long ribbons.  Juvenile stems rounded or square in cross section, usually glaucous, warty.  Juvenile leaves opposite each other for 5–10 pairs then alternating up the stems, 2.5-6 cm long, 5-18 mm wide, dull, bluish green to grey-green, or glaucous, upper and lower surfaces different colours.  Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 5-15.5 cm long, 7-22 cm wide, dull, green to blue-green.  Flowers white, with 0 petals.  Flower in 3-flowered clusters.  Mature flower buds about 6-10 mm long, caps shorter than the base.  Flowers Autumn.  Gumnuts 5-9 mm in diameter. Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have protruding valves or valves that are not very noticeable.
