Where found

Along the margin of very wet seepage slopes in pasture amongst tea tree, often growing on Sphagnum moss. Confined to a small section of the Bredbo River north east of Cooma.

Notes

Annual or possibly biennial herb to 0.09 m high. Stems rough with minute projections, hairless. Basal leaves 3–6 pairs, 0.8–2 cm long, 8–12 mm wide, margins smooth to rough with minute projections. Stem leaves opposite each other, 3–6 pairs, becoming smaller and thicker up the stem, 0.6–1.5 cm long, 5–8 mm wide. Flowers pinkish outside, pure white inside, 8–10 mm long, bell-shaped, with 5 spreading lobes. Flowers single at the ends of the stems, 1–6 flowers per plant. Flowers only open in periods of sunshine. Flowering: spring.

Vulnerable Australia. Critically endangered NSW. Provisions of the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 No 63 relating to the protection of protected plants generally also apply to plants that are a threatened species.
