Where found

Among dry grasses and in herbfields near bogs in subalpine areas. Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, and ACT. Occasionally on the tablelands and ranges south of Nimmitabel.

Notes

Perennial herb to 0.25m high. Leaves somewhat aromatic when rubbed, basal, compound, 2.5–8 cm long, 5–20 mm wide, with 17–33 dissected leaflets each 0.2–1 cm long, surfaces densely silvery with long hairs, basal sheaths silvery with long hairs, tips abruptly pointed. Flowers with 5 petals to about 2 mm long, white with a dark midvein or occasionally pink, silvery hairy on the outside, in 15–25-flowered clusters. 'Seeds' turn purple brown to black. Flowers summer.

All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
