Where found

Variety of habitats, especially wet forest and rainforest. Coast, ranges, and the eastern edge of the tablelands.

Notes

Perennial herb, mostly to 0.30 m high. Stems hairy. Leaves opposite each other, usually 2–7 cm long, 3–40 mm wide, tips pointed to blunt, margins more or less entire, upper surface with mineral concretions, lower surface sometimes purple and gland-dotted. Flowers white to mauve, sometimes with darker spots on the lower lobe, tubular, with 5 lobes. Tube mostly 10–15 mm long, lobes 5–8 mm long. Flowers in elongated clusters, the flowers near the top usually showy, the lower ones small, and often self-pollinating without opening. Flowers Summer to Autumn.
