Where found

Rainforest and along streams. Coast and ranges north of Milton. One record from west of Merimbula.

Notes

Shrub or tree to 15 m tall. Bark flaky, brown. Branchlets round to 4-angled, with no pockets or lumps at the nodes. Hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, 4.5-10 cm long, 15-30 mm wide, tips pointed, surfaces hairless, shiny, dark-green above and paler beneath, oil glands small and scattered or obscure, not readily visible with the naked eye. Flowers white, with 4-5 petals each 4-5 mm long. Stamens 6-15 mm long. Flowers in clusters, sometimes in branched clusters. Flowers Spring to Autumn. Fruit fleshy, pink to magenta or reddish purple, round or oval to oval, 15-25 mm long.
