Where found

Forest, woodland, and heath, often in swampy situations. Coast and ranges, occasionally on the tablelands.

Notes

Perennial herb to 0.7 m tall, the leaves arising annually from a narrow rhizome, roots without tubers. Flowering stems branching, occasionally 2 or 3 branches at a node, grooved, hairless or hairy with short hairs near the base and almost hairless on the upper parts. Leaves basal, 6–25 cm long, more or less linear, flattened cylindrical. Sometimes absent. Flowers mauve to pink, with 6 'petals' each 10–14 mm long. Flower clusters 1–5-flowered. Flowers Spring to Autumn.
