Rhizome c. 0.1 mm diam., long-creeping; hairs dense, short, reddish brown. Fronds membraneous 1.3–4 (–10) cm long. Stipes widely spaced, 0.3–1.3 (–2.5) cm long, winged almost to the base. Lamina narrowly ovate to linear, deeply 2–3-pinnatifid, 1.1–4 (–8) cm long, to 0.5–1.5 (–2.5) cm wide, dark green. Ultimate segments 0.5–0.7 mm wide; margins entire; marginal cells clear, elongate, with oblique end walls; apices obtuse, often notched; false veins absent. Sori immersed in short, basal, acroscopic segments of the pinnae; involucre trumpet-shaped, 1.5–2 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, winged; mouth dilated, entire; receptacle exserted to 3 mm beyond the mouth.
Occurs on the Atherton and Evelyn Tablelands NE QLD. Also in New Guinea and the Pacific Islands.
Recorded as a lithophyte in or near streams in upper-montane rainforest.
