Rhizome 0.1–0.25 mm diam.; hairs dense, dark brown. Fronds 4–12 mm long. Stipe 0.1–2 mm long, unwinged or winged towards the apex; hairs dense, similar to those on the rhizome. Lamina narrowly oblong, simple or once forked, 2–7 mm long, 1.5–4 mm wide, membranous, yellowish green, translucent; margins entire or slightly wavy; apex notched, rounded or truncate; costae black, with a few appressed opaque or reddish hairs especially near the apex. Sori terminal, 1–2, deeply immersed; involucre broadly trumpet-shaped, 1–2 mm long, 0.8–2 mm diam., with hairs as on the costae; mouth entire, dilated or slightly fluted, as wide as or slightly narrower than the lobe; receptacle exserted to 0.5 mm beyond the mouth.
NE QLD between Mt Lewis Tableland and Eungella. Also in Asia, Malesia and Pacific Islands.
Epiphytic on tree bases and fallen logs in mesic mid to upper montane vine forest.
