Description

Rhizome erect, 10–25 mm thick, sparsely scaly; scales 1–2.5 mm long, 0.4–0.6 mm wide, pale to dark brown. Fronds crowded. Stipe 10–40 cm long, greenish brown, scaly at the base. Lamina 3–4-pinnate, pentagonal, 15–40 cm long, 10–35 cm wide, dark green and glossy above, paler beneath, finely dissected, thin, glabrous except on the veins; rachises sparsely to densely hairy. Ultimate segments ovate to narrowly ovate, c. 2 mm wide; base decurrent on the minor axes; margins divided into shallow blunt lobes; apex obtuse. Sori terminal on veinlets, 1–4 per ultimate segment, exindusiate

Distribution

Endemic to NE QLD between Lamb Range and Tinaroo Hills.

Habit and habitat

Terrestrial, usually on the banks of small creeks in wet rainforest.

Natural history

Named after Bruce Gray who collected the type in Tinaroo Hills.
