4.5.2 Pinna or pinnule form

Pinnatifid: is the pinnule deeply lobed along either side in pinnate form (but not divided to the midrib so that the lobes are continuous with one another at their bases).

Simple: the pinnule is not deeply lobed.

Pinnate: the pinnule is divided into a single series of leaflets attached along both sides of a midrib or rachis like the elements of a bird's feather.
