4.7.1 Abaxial surface colour

Glaucous: covered with a matt layer of wax that makes it appear white or light grey.  Ignore the colour of any hairs on the surface.
Not glaucous.

Fold part of the lamina so that you can see top and bottom surfaces side by side and compare their colours. The lower (abaxial) surface is often much lighter in colour than the upper (adaxial) surface. Decide whether the lower surface is:
