Shrubland, grassy areas, disturbed sites, near old gardens, and along streams. Coastal north of Milton.
Introduced shrub to 3 m tall. Stems with simple, stellate, and glandular hairs (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Leaves alternating up the stems, 1.5-18 cm long, 20-130 mm wide, margins toothed, bases deeply cordate, tips blunt to tapered gradually to a point. Flowers yellow to orange, 12-22 mm long, with 5 petals each 8-22 mm long, in 1-3 flowered clusters. Flowers Winter to Spring.
