Dry forest, woodland, and heath. Mainly in the Blue Mountains from Newnes south to Jenolan Caves.
Shrub to 2 m tall. Branchlets more or less cylindrical, with short hairs, sometimes hairless. 'Leaves' with sharp tips, alternating up the stems, often clustered or almost whorled, 0.8-2 cm long, 1-2 mm wide, more or less rigid, more or less straight, surfaces hairless, tips sharp, 1 marginal gland near the base. Flower heads bright yellow, globular, 3.5-6 mm in diameter, 15-30 flowered (easiest seen in late buds), single. Stalks on the flower heads 0–3 mm long, shorter than the heads. Flowering: mainly August–October, but also other times of the year.
Family was Mimosaceae.
