Dry forest, mainly on rocky slopes and ridges. Ranges and tablelands in and near Deua and Wadbilliga National Parks. One coastal record from near Bega. Occasionally planted in the ACT.
Tree or shrub to 7.5 m tall. Fleshy seed stalks/arils. Bark smooth. Branchlets angled at the tips, hairless, sometimes glaucous. 'Leaves' alternating up the stems, 3-5.5 cm long, 5-11 mm wide, straight or slightly curved, surfaces hairless, glaucous, midvein prominent, tips blunt with a mucro. Flower heads yellow, globular, 5-8 flowered (easiest seen in late buds), 3-5 mm in diameter, in elongated clusters of 5-11 flower heads. Flowers Winter to Spring.
