Forest and woodland in the higher Blue Mountains.
Shrub to 3 m tall. Fleshy seed stalks/arils. Branchlets ridged or angled becoming somewhat cylindrical, smooth or with a few small warts, moderately to sparsely hairy. 'Leaves' alternating up the stems, 1-3.5 cm long, 6-26 mm wide, rotated to 30–60o from the plane of the branchlets or rarely vertical, surfaces green to grey-green or blue-green, sparsely hairy or hairless, midvein somewhat prominent, margins wavy, tips gradually tapering to a point, or pointed or blunt and with a mucro, 1 gland to 1/8 the length of the 'leaf' above the base.. Flower heads pale yellow, globular, 5-9 mm in diameter, 20-30 flowered (easiest seen in late buds). Flower heads single.
