Forest. Coast and ranges south to west of Mollymook.
Shrub to 2 m high. Leaves with sharp tips. Fruit more or less fleshy. Leaves alternating up the stems, horizontal, 0.6–1.6 cm long, 1.7–4.2 mm wide, dull, lower surface finely striate veined. Flowers green or cream. Flowers tubular, with 5 lobes, the tube 1–1.9 mm long; lobes 1–1.3 mm long, with a fringe of hairs at the tips, and with 5 tufts of hairs spreading across the throat. Flowers 3–5 per cluster. Flowering: July–September, rarely December Fruit bright or dark red.
