Where found

Damp to swampy heath in subalpine areas. Kosciuszko National Park. Rarely in the mountains in the ACT. Mostly in the subalpine areas of Vic.

Notes

Slender, trailing shrub, branches to 1 m long. Stems hairy with appressed hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.3–0.9 cm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide; upper surface hairless; lower surface slightly rough and with sparse, pale hairs, margins slightly curved to rolled upwards, and not warty. Flowers pea-shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, with yellow petals with red to dark markings. Standard petal 5–7 mm wide. Calyx 5–6 mm long including the stalk 1.5–2 mm long, lobes sparsely to moderately hairy, the lower part of the tube hairy. Bracteoles about 1 mm long, hairy, bracts 1–1.25 mm long, hairy. Flowers in heads of about 4–10 flowers; Flowers Dec.

All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.

Vulnerable Vic. Listed in the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, Vic.
