Where found

Wet and swampy heath, and along streams. Western edge of the ranges and eastern edge of the tablelands south from Deua National Park.

Notes

Shrub to 1.2 m tall or sprawling. Stems cylindrical, hairless to moderately hairy hairy with appressed hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.5-1.2 cm long, 1-2 mm wide, tips pointed; lower surface usually with a dark purplish-brown central band, margins flat to slightly curved, or rarely rolled, upwards, not warty. Flowers pea-shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, with orange to yellow petals with red to dark markings, calyx 3-3.5 mm long, hairless a least at the base, standard petal 7-10 mm long. Flowers in tight clusters of 4–10 flowers at the tops of the stems. Bracteoles below the flowers 1–3 mm long, moderately to densely hairy. Bracts below the flowers 2–3 mm long, often stiffly pointed. Flowers Spring.
