Forest. Coast and ranges north from the Nowra district.
Perennial herb to about 0.4 m high. Stems fleshy. Leaves alternating up the stems, 3–10 cm long, 10–25 mm wide, with a sheath at the base, upper surface rough with minute projections. Flowers white, with 3 'petals' each 4–8 mm long. Usually 3 stamens producing pollen and 2-3 staminodes not producing pollen. Filaments of the stamens not bearded. Flowers in branched clusters 8–15 cm long, not enclosed in a spathe-like bract. Flowering: August–January. Seed cases dry, green to brown.
