Dry forest, woodland, rocky areas, and in moss mats and other damp sites in forest. Tablelands, ACT, the mountains to the west, Kosciuszko National Park, and Western Slopes.
Annual herb to 0.10 m high. Stems bristly or hairy to sparsely hairy with long hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.3–1.2 cm long, 3–7 mm wide, fan-shaped. Flowers 1.5-2.5 mm long, green or white, later reddish. Flowers with 0 petals, 4-6 pointed sepals. Flowers in clusters of 5–7. Flowers winter-spring. Seed cases reddish brown.
