Beach sand and fore-dunes. Occasionally grasslands. Coastal. A number of sightings on the western edge of Wadbilliga National Park.
Introduced perennial herb to 0.30 m high, or prostrate, fleshy, felted-hairy. Stems ribbed. Leaves mostly alternating along the stems, often appearing basal, 2–6 cm long, 15–50 mm wide, broadly oval to almost round, margins entire or slightly toothed, stalks stem-clasping. Flower heads with yellow 'petals' 5–12 mm long, and with yellow centres 15–20 mm in diameter. Flower heads behind the 'petals' hemispherical. Flowering: most of year. Seeds enveloped in whitish wool.
