Moist sites in woodland and grassland. Kosciuszko National Park and south.
Perennial herb, sprawling to prostrate, stems to 0.3 m long. Stems 4-angled, rough hairy. Leaves in whorls of 6–8, 0.4–1.5 cm long, 1.5–6 mm wide, midrib narrow, tips pointed to blunt. Male and female plants on different plants. Flowers white, with a funnel-shaped tube and 4 lobes, the tube about as long as the lobes or slightly shorter. Male flowers 2.5–4 mm long; female flowers 1–2 mm long. Flowers in 3–7-flowered clusters. Flowering: October–December.
