Dry forest and woodland on sandstone. Ranges north of Mittagong and inland from Wollongong. Sydney area.
Shrub to 4 m high. Branchlets stellate hairy (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Leaves alternating up the stems, 7.5–27 cm long, usually 20–50 mm wide, upper surface smooth, light green, dull; lower surface covered with soft woolly hairs which are entangled and tend to rub off, veins evident in relief through the hairs, margins entire; tips pointed. Flowers small, with 5 petals, white to cream or pale green. Petals erect to spreading. Inflorescence up to 70 cm long, usually stellate hairy throughout (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Flowering: Sept.–Dec.
