Moist places in forest and heath, wet rocky sites, mountain gullies, margins of swamps and along streams, and in bogs. Mainly ranges, tablelands, ACT, the mountains to the west, and Kosciuszko National Park. Occasionally elsewhere.
Shrub to 3 m tall. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, 0.3-1 cm long, 1-3 mm wide, more or less triangular in cross section, keeled below. Flowers with 5 white petals, 4-7 mm in diameter. Flowers single, appearing clustered. Flowers Summer to Autumn.
All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
