Rocky places. Coast and ranges. Occasionally on the tablelands and Western Slopes.
Shrub to 4 m tall. Leaves spirally arranged, 2-5 cm long, 5-15 mm wide, hairless, often sticky, margins flat or slightly curved down, tips pointed. Male and female flowers on separate plants. Flowers green, with 5 'petals', male flowers with 'petals' 2.8–5 mm long, with yellow anthers, in clusters of 1-5, female flowers with 'petals' 2-3 mm long, single. Flowers Winter to Summer. Seed cases sticky, hairless or sparsely hairy, 6–8 mm long.
