Forest, woodland, and heath. Coast and ranges south of Eden.
Tree or shrub to 7 m high. Branchlets hairless, or sparsely hairy in 2 lines separated by hairless leaf bases continuing down the stem, and glandular-warty. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, 4.5–7 cm long, 20–42 mm wide, compound, with 7–17 leaflets, the terminal leaflet shortest. Rachis 1.3–3.5 cm long, leaflets 0.5–2.5 cm long, 1–4.5 mm wide, upper surface hairless and more or less glandular-warty, lower surface paler than the upper surface, margins finely toothed and curved down, tips pointed. Flowers deep to pale pink, often brighter pink on the outside, occasionally white, with 4 petals each 5–9 mm long. Petals overlapping each other in bud, falling early. 8 stamens. Flowers in 1–15-flowered clusters.
