Dry forest, heath, and stable dunes. Ranges and tablelands. Occasionally coastal.
Shrub to 1 m high. Branchlets more or less hairy. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, compound, mostly with 3 leaflets, each 0.3–0.6 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, thick, margins entire, surfaces often glandular-warty, and hairless to hairy especially along the midvein on the lower surface, tips pointed and often curved down. Flowers white to pale pink, with 4 petals each 2.5–3.5 mm long. Petals overlapping each other in bud, persisting at the seeding stage. 8 stamens. Flowers single. Flowers Winter.
