Open forest and heath, on rocky slopes. Ranges and tablelands north from Braidwood.
Shrub to 1.1 m high. Branchlets slightly angled to prominently 4-angled, more or less hairy. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, compound, with 5–9 leaflets, the terminal leaflet often slightly the shortest. Rachis 0.2–0.8 cm long, leaflets 0.4–1.5 cm long, 0.3–1 mm wide, more or less cylindrical, mostly hairless, margins entire, tips tapering gradually to a fine point. Flowers mostly bright pink to purplish, with 4 petals each 5–8 mm long. Petals overlapping each other in bud, falling early. 8 stamens. Flowers in 1–3 flowered clusters. Flowering: September–January.
