Forest in damp shady situations. North from Moruya. Coast, ranges, and eastern edge of the tablelands.
Tree or shrub to 4 m high. Branchlets with 2 grooves separated by leaf bases continuing down the stems, and hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, compound, with 3–15 leaflets, the terminal leaflet often the shortest. Rachis 0.9–4 cm long, slightly winged, leaflets 0.5–3 cm long, 1–6 mm wide, lower surface slightly paler than the upper surface, margins finely glandular-scalloped and rolled to curved down, tips pointed. Flowers pink, with 4 petals each 6–9 mm long. Petals overlapping each other in bud, falling early. 8 stamens. Flowers in 2–6 flowered clusters. Flowering: August–November.
