Dry forest, woodland, grassy areas, wet gullies, and near sphagnum bogs, usually at high altitudes. Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, ACT, tablelands, and the ranges. Rarely coastal.
Shrub to 2 m tall. Stems cylindrical, hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.15-0.4 cm long, 0.15-3.5 mm wide, often folded upwards from the midrib, upper surface hairless, lower surface with appressed white hairs or rarely hairless. Flowers 5-8 mm long, pea-shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel. Petals yellow. Flowers Winter to Summer.
