Dry forest and woodland north from Sutton Forest and Fitzroy Falls.
Shrub to about 0.5 m tall or sprawling to prostrate. Stems cylindrical, sparsely to moderately hairy, at least when young. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.2-0.8 cm long, 2–7 mm wide, upper surface covered with minute warts, often with scattered hairs, lower surface sparsely hairy. Flowers 6–9 mm long, pea-shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel. Standard petal mostly yellow with red markings inside, dark reddish outside. Wings pale purplish brown or yellow towards the tips, with dark reddish to brown markings. Keel pale at the base, red at the tip. Flowers spring to summer.
