Where found

Dry forest and grassy woodland. Western Slopes, Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, ACT, and the tablelands.

Notes

Perennial herb to 0.25 m tall, rhizomatous, sparsely to conspicuously whitish sticky hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems or mostly in a near-basal rosette, 2-7 cm long, 8-20 mm wide, green and with sparse to dense non-glandular and glandular hairs, all leaves with shallow lobes, tips blunt or pointed. Flower heads with 18-35 white, pink, mauve, or purplish 'petals' 6.7-7.5 mm long, and yellow centres about 5-8 mm in diameter. Bracts appressed to the flower heads 15-25. Flowers Spring.

All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.

Definite identification of most species of Brachyscome depends on microscopic examination of the seeds.
