Shrub to 2 m high. Fruit fleshy. Leaves alternating up the stems in two rows on either side of the stems, appearing compound, 2.5-4 cm long, 15-23 mm wide, lateral veins forming fairly distinct loops inside the margins, tips pointed or blunt. Male and female flowers. Flowers about 1-1.5 mm in diameter, with 6 'petals', fused together at the base. Flowers single or in few-flowered clusters. Fruit red, about 5-8 mm in diameter.
