Dry forest, woodland, disturbed sites, and rocky areas. Ranges. Eastern parts of the tablelands, north of the Hume Higway.
Shrub, often sprawling and less than 1 m high. Branches with numerous spines. Young branchlets moderately hairy with spreading hairs. Leaves hairless, clustered around spiny short shoots. Adult leaves 0.6–0.9 cm long, 1–3 mm wide; margins entire. Seedling leaves 0.8–1.2 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, hairless, margins toothed. Flowers white with 5 petals each 6–8 mm long. 5 cream sepals 3.5–4 mm long. Flowers single or in few-flowered clusters. Flowers mainly summer.
