Dry forest and open woodland. Coast and ranges south of Cobargo. Sporadic elsewhere.

Notes

Annual or perennial herb to about 0.1 m tall, sprawling or prostrate, stems to 30 cm long. Leaves fleshy, basal, and alternating along the stems or opposite each other, 1-4 cm long, 2-7 mm wide, flattened cylindrical to flat, hairless. Flowers with 5 pink petals each 2-3 mm long, 1-1.6 mm wide, in loose clusters of about 3–10-flowers. Flowers Winter to Spring.

Identification to species level of Calandrinia usually requires microscopic examination of the seeds.
