Damp areas subject to flooding. Occasional on the tablelands and Western Slopes. Rare eslewhere. Montague Island off Narooma.
Annual herb, prostrate to erect, hairless. Leaves opposite each other, 0.08-0.5 cm long, 0.4-1.5 mm wide, margins smooth, tips blunt. Male and female flowers on the same plant. Flowers small, with 0 petals, a male and a female flower in a pair at the base of opposite leaves, often a pair of flowers at the base of each leaf of a pair of leaves.
Mature seed cases are necessary for identification to species level.
Family was Callitrichaceae.
