Woodland, shrubland, grassland, and sites subject to flooding. Western Slopes.
Annual herb to 0.5 m tall. Stems woolly, grey to silvery. Leaves highly aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, sometimes the lowermost opposite each other, 0.5-6.3 cm long, 2-5 mm wide, hairy, often dilated and sheathing at the base or the bases of the leaves continuing down the stems, tips pointed. Flower heads yellow to yellow-orange or white, 6–12 mm long, compound, with about 50–100 individual flower heds, round to oval, with 0 petals, single at the tops of the stems. Flowering: spring–summer.
