Coastal dunes and rocky areas.
Perennial herb with trailing or rarely twining stems. Hairless. Leaves somewhat fleshy, alternating along the stems, 1.5–4 cm long, 20–60 mm wide, more or less kidney shaped, margins wavy. Flowers white, pink or purplish, 30–50 mm long, trumpet-shaped, with 5 lobes. Stigma with 2 lobes. Sepals free from each other. Bracteoles broadly oval, tips blunt to rounded, 10–15 mm long, slightly shorter than the sepals. Flowers single. Flowers Spring to Summer.
