Mainly coastal sand dunes north from Sydney.
Climbing or trailing herb, stems 2–3 m long. Stems hairless or hairy. Leaves alternating along the stems, compound, with three leaflets each 4–12 cm long, 30–100 mm wide, leathery, hairless only at maturity. Calyx about 12 mm long. Flowers pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, mauve to white. Standard petal mostly 20–30 mm long. Flowers in interrupted clusters of about 8 flowers. Seeds poisonous. Flowers most of the year.
