Hilly to mountainous forested areas. Mainly Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, and ACT. Occasional elsewhere.
Small annual or perennial herb to 0.25 m high. Stems hairless or covered with minute warts. Basal leaves 2-7 cm long, simple, or compound with 3-5 leaflets, forming a persistent rosette. Lateral leaflets more or less round, terminal leaflet oval to cordate. Stem leaves, 0-3, alternating up the stems, 0.5–6 cm long, variable in shape, upper leaves much reduced, margins sometimes warty. Flowers with 4 petals each 3–5 mm long, white, pink, or white inside, pink outside. 6 stamens. Flowers usually in few-flowered clusters. Flowers Spring-Autumn.
