Open woodland, mallee, shubland, and other habitats. Rocky sites. Western Slopes and tablelands. Ranges north of Bowral. Occasionally elsewhere.
Shrub to 3 m tall. Stems usually with prominent scars from the bases of fallen leaves, white woolly. Leaves with a curry-like or unpleasant odour. Leaves alternating up the stems or crowded, 1-5 cm long, about 1 mm wide, upper surface shiny, hairless, lower surface sticky hairy, margins rolled down, almost concealing the lower surface, bases continuing down the stems, tips blunt to pointed. Flower heads 3-4 mm long, creamy white to cream or straw coloured, cylindrical to oval or bell-shaped, with 2-10 florets with 0 petals, in dense to loose branched clusters. Flowers Spring to Autumn.
