Open forest and shrubland. Nadgee National Park. Mostly in Victoria.
Shrub to 3 m high. Branchlets rough, very sticky shen young, with dense spreading hairs bearing glandular tips, and sparser cottony hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 2.5–4.5 cm long, 0.8–0.9 mm wide, cylindrical, upper surface smooth and sticky, loweer surface with dense white cottony hairs except for the midrib, tips bent down up to 90˚, margins rolled down and reaching the midrib. Flower heads white becoming yellow-brown to green at the base, conical, 4.5–5 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, with 4–6 florets with 0 petals, surrounded by white bracts. Flowers in clusters of several hundred flower heads, 50–120 mm in diameter. Flowers Jan.–Mar.
The name Cassinia uncata was previously misapplied to this species.
