Damp places. Mainly Coast, ranges, and tablelands.
Creeping perennial herb, rooting at the nodes. Leaves in groups at the nodes, 1–4 cm long, 10-40 mm wide, on stalks 1-20 cm long. Leaves more or less round in outline, hairless, margins entire, wavy, or strongly scalloped. Flowers bisexual or the lateral ones male, with 5 petals about 1.5 mm long, pink to crimson or purple or white. Sepals absent. Flowers in clusters of 2-3, sometimes 2-3 clusters together. Flowers mostly summer–autumn.
