Damp places. Coast, ranges, and tablelands. Mainly in the Sydney region.
Creeping perennial herb, rooting at the nodes. Leaves in groups at the nodes, 0.5-5.5 cm long, mostly longer than broad, usually becoming hairless, margins entire, wavy, or faintly toothed. Leaf stalks often purplish tinted. Flowers bisexual or the lateral ones male, with 5 petals about 1.5 mm long, white to pink to crimson or purple. Sepals forming a minutely lobed persistent ring. Flowers in clusters of usually 2-3 flowers. Flowers late summer–autumn.
