Perennial herb to 0.3 m tall. Stems mostly hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, 0.4-2.5 cm long, 2-8 mm wide, hairless or almost hairless, resin-dotted on both surfaces, margins toothed, tips more or less pointed. Flower heads greenish, 4–5 mm in diameter, with many florets, 0 petals, cup-shaped to broadly bell-shaped, stalkless, single or paired. Flowering: mainly spring.
