Mallee, woodland, grassy areas, disturbed sites, and near streams. Kosciuszko National Park and Western Slopes.
Annual or perennial herb, prostrate to sprawling. Leaves opposite each other or alternating along the stems, 0.3-1 cm long, 5-20 mm wide, mealy below, often only slightly mealy above. Topmost flowers on a plant male or bisexual, lateral flowers female. Flowers tiny, about 1 mm in diameter, with 3-5 'petals', shortly united at the base or to near midway. Flowers in clusters. Fruit dry or thinly fleshy, mealy.
