Where found

Garden escape. Open forest, woodland, grassy areas, roadsides, railway lines and other disturbed areas. Sydney area and the Blue Mountains. Coastal north of Tuross Head. Canberra. Occasionally on the tablelands.

Notes

Introduced perennial herb to 1 m high, forming clumps. Stems sparsely to moderately hairy. Basal leaves 4–30 cm long, 10–20 mm wide, entire, with 2 basal lobes, or compound, with 3 leaflets, sparsely to densely hairy on both surfaces. Stem leaves opposite each other, 2–5 cm long, entire, sparsely to densely hairy on both surfaces. Flower heads with about 8 bright yellow toothed ‘petals’ 25-40 mm long, and yellow centres 10–20 mm in diameter Flower heads cup-shaped behind the 'petals'. Flower heads single or in loose clusters. Flowering: summer.
