Poorly drained pastures, roadsides, and moist, often saline, sites. Western Slopes.
Introduced annual herb to about 0.25 m tall. Stems hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1-6 cm long, 10-20 mm wide, hairless, deeply dissected, the segments dissected, with a bases sheathing or stem-clasping. Upper leaves smaller, entire. Flower heads cream with a yellow centre, 6–8 mm in diameter, hemispherical, with many florets, 0 petals. Margins of the bracts surrounding the flower heads often purplish. Flower heads single. Flower stalks 20-80 mm long.
